Traveling with children can be challenging as many of us parents know. Traveling with a child with Autism, well let's just say that becomes quite the adventure! This picture is of three of our children decked out in their Santa hats on Christmas Day. We were traveling to see our other set of grandparents in Palm Springs, California. With just a few minor hiccups the flight and the trip were wonderful. I think ten years of parenting Scott has prepared us for just about anything. I believe that trying to plan for any mishap is how to lessen the stress and enjoy your trip and your children. From our family I would like to thank all of you who continually support our run and this cause. Our prayer is for a cure but until that day we just try to enjoy and prepare for everyday with Scott, Joseph, Brigit and James. Dear Family and Friends, Autism Speaks and Cure Autism Now have completed their merger, uniting the nation’s two leading autism advocacy organizations and their cutting-edge programs for research, treatment, and family services. The consolidation of the two organizations is based on their mutual commitment to accelerate and fund biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism spectrum disorders; to increase awareness of the nation’s fastest-growing developmental disorder; and to advocate for the needs of affected individuals and families. The diagnosis of autism has increased tenfold in the last decade, 1 in 150, leading the Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) to call autism a national public health crisis. We are asking for your financial support for the Kankakee Valley Chapter of Autism Society of America whose mission is to serve the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy, education and public awareness or to the Cure Autism Now/ Autism Speaks organization. Autism affects the lives of over 1.7 million children and adults in the United States. We decided as a family, that our Run/Walk could be used as a tool to raise awareness and funds to help fight a disorder that is very close to all our hearts, autism. Almost 13 years ago, autism took a beautiful little boy that we all call Scotty. Scotty is now almost 13 and has come a long way since his diagnosis in 1997, but his is not cured. We believe there is a cure for autism. We will find it. You can help. Mike & Jennifer Range Gerry & Judy Kilbride Parents of Scott Grandparents of Scott
